Inkosi Detent Observation

I took receipt of a new Large Inkosi Insingo. One thing I’ve noticed is that the detent seems more mushy than my Umnumzaan and Sebenza. They all open fine, but when closing, the Sebenza and Umnumzaan both have a positive, loud click when the detent ball settles into the detent hole.

The Inkosi is more of a muted “rest” into the detent hole. The detent doesn’t feel as snappy as the other two. I remember my buddies Insingo Inkosi was similar.

Would y’all mind, if you have a newer version of a large Inkosi Insingo, would you compare the feel and sound of the detent ball going into the detent hole vs your large 31 and report back?! Don’t wanna send it off if it isn’t a problem.

I have cleaned out the detent hole as well.

Thanks all

Im carrying and using a 2023 production Inkosi Insingo and own a couple Zaan and a 31. I have always felt that the inkosi has a more muted close / detent sound. It gets even more muted when your stop pin is covered it pocket lint! They are all different animals so the all sound a little different.
I think the big thing is the tolerances on the Inkosi, I have thought they were tighter then any other CRK Ihave owned, and there is Very little clearence between stop pin and blade tang as it travels around so it just nestles in instead of slamming.

My thoughts anyway

So it’s not just me and this Inkosi. Thanks for your reply!

My inkosi all have a rather soft close compared to a seb.

Edit: other than my smol one. it is rather vocal.
