Hey all its been a while. I'll post pics of the collection when it gets here. Short version I started with a small 21. I tried a zaan, too big. Mnandi too small and too nice, I know I know. I ended up with a 3 inch xm, then all the production 3 inch xms. The whole time I kept looking for a sebenza with a flipper. Fast forward to Friday. I was at the store in Utah. I asked to see the inkosi and it was perfect. It helped the born on date was also my daughters bday.

Talk soon,

Oh wow are you lucky on the Bday!

Glad you found the Inkosi to be suitable. Use it in health.

I'm very much looking forward to the large Inkosi!

Thanks. Not just suitable. I'm stoked. I'm sure this has been talked about a lot but isn't the 25 a large inkosi? Pardon my ignorance asi didn't research this one as much as I normally do prior to pulling the trigger. I like it that much.

I know I've seen mention of it before Justin, but is the Large Inkosi a certainty, or wishful thinking ?

The Inkosi is indeed similar to a 25 in design. It has improved washers which I am sure will be great.

It also has an angled pocket clip which will probably fit some hand sizes better. I would venture it was designed to fit the hands the 25 does not.

Chris described it as the first of a new family of Knives. So many of us are expecting more models in the line up but we could be wrong. The washers might just be incorporated into the 25.

I don't think the angled pocket clip will work well with an inlay. I think it was a decision made to suit that very small form factor.

My prediction is we will see a larger Inkosi that comes in smaller than a 25 and fills the medium size category. If that's the case in sure it's going to be a great seller.

Chris said, and I'm paraphrasing here that it was the first in a new family of knives.

Speculation as to what that means is rampant but deductive logic leads us to believe that they won't go smaller.

Based on conversations I've had with other collectors many believe a mid size is due so based on the Inkosi being smaller than the small 21, the next Inkosi family instalment might come in a little smaller than a large 21 to serve that demand. Personally I doubt they would go larger than a 25.

Additionally I think it's made to fit a different hand shape than the 25, and the clip doesn't suit an inlay as is. So I'm thinking it's not a 25 replacement. I could be very wrong.

This is all based on us collectors talking and as far as I know there has never been any official information provided as to the next step.

If that's the case I'll get the larger one too. I've always been one to put pressure on my pocket clip when opening my knife. I don't mean too, it just happens. My second impression of the inkosi, first being size YES, was ease of opening. I then looked and noticed the pocket clip was angled to the side. I really like that, a lot. I mentioned I have several production XMs, the thing I always wished they had as production was a hallow grind. My small 21 has always been my laser. I think this will be the love child of the 2

Then I believe you are going to thoroughly enjoy the Inkosi. I look forward to your review!

Good points. I think a "mid range " knife would be awesome. I'm one that likes smaller knives, but also wouldn't mind having a knife that is a little bigger,
without going to far. I have big enough hands to comfortably use a larger knife, it is just size preference for me.
The Inkosi seems to be doing well, and I've actually still been thinking about trying one out, so a slightly larger version would be great.

Going the other direction, I don't like knives that are really small. I like the Mnandi, and would like to have one, but I'm afraid they go a little to far down
the size scale. No doubt I'm in the minority because they seem to have a great following, but I think it would be cool to have a Mnandi that is a little bigger.

There is no pleasing some of us lol :D

Congrats on the Inkosi! That is cool that born on date is your daughter's Birthday.

Question:

I think I read that this knife doesn't have the pivot bushing like the 21. Is that correct or did I hear wrong? I'm more curious as it won't change the fact I'm excited for it to get here.

No bushing. Most of them come set pretty light from the factory. You can set the pivot tension however you like it if you find it unsatisfactory. I prefer the 25/Inkosi pivot to the bushing in the 21.

I really love my Inkosi and it has a better action then my two small 21's. I hope you like it.
