Inkosi question...

One of the biggest things I LOVE about my sabenza is not having to deal with any loctite, as i have delt with on ALL my benchmades. Is it a hassle cleaning and scraping off loctite everytime you want to clean your inkosi??? I would love to own one but this seems like it may be a big hassle to me... any opinions?

I use the purple stuff (LOCTITE 222). Trivial to clean up, keeps the pivot in place.

Even with loctite eventually, over time, all my benchmades have a tiny tiny bit of side to side play... wondering if this is the case on with the inkosi?

I've haven't ever put Loctite on my Inkosi or Zaan and have not had them loosen.....maybe you won't need to worry.

Never have used the Loctite on any of the Sebenza 25's, Umnumzaan's or Inkosi's that I have.
Currently I don't have any sabenza's, but I do have some Sebenza's which is the reason I've not used the Loctite on the other CRK's

I use loctite. I also use a brush I have from a frog lube cleaning kit I purchased years ago. Takes me a total of 10 seconds to brush off the old and apply new. I don't think it's necessary though. I'm about 99% sure if your inkosi doesn't have play when you get it new it won't have play ever under normal use. Both my Inkosi pretty much center up once I snap the presentation side scale into place during re-assembly. Setting the pivot on an inkosi is trivial imo. About 100% easier than any other knife I have ever seen or owned personally.

That's good to hear.

TBH, I have never disassembled any of my CRKs. I'm almost certainly in the minority here, but for me, the thought of disassembling and reassembling a knife is worrying. I'm concerned that I would reassemble it incorrectly, or do something that somehow alters the specs for the worst. I'm sure people will say that it's easy, and that the simplicity and precision of CRKs means they go back together perfectly every time.

If I ever seriously gunked up my knife, I would most likely try it, if I could find a tutorial that clearly shows me how. I'm not the kind of person who likes taking things apart and tinkering with them much. I'm not at all afraid of using them, just disassembling/reassembling them.

As others said you may not need it at all. Another thing to consider is that I feel like the inkosi goes forever without needing cleaning.

On the Inkosi you don't really have to worry about pinching a washer like on the Sebenza, which is the only thing that can go really wrong reassembling.

Just use some teflon thread tape. Just a little bit is all that's needed. Put it on my small inkosi and haven't had it loosen in 9 months.

I don't use loctite either and haven't had issues. Teflon tape is always a good backup plan though. I'd rather use that than loctite.

I have never disassembled any of my CRKs.

Jim, I understand your trepidation. I have felt that myself in the past, and finally took apart one of my Sebbies. It really is EASY and it is pretty darned foolproof.
I would reco that you type in this phrase..."youtube/sebenza disassembly" into your Search and then pick from the many helpful videos. The Sebbie is the perfect one for you to get your feet wet...the perfection and close tolerances during the manufacture of this folder have made it duck soup to put back together...quickly, surely, and easily.
I promise that you will NOT be sorry...

I use LockTite on my Inkosi, clean it often and have only re applied LockTite once. The large bolt with many threads keep it snug.
No fuss!
