the wood on my inlay (the back side) shrinks and swells as it gets hot and cold. leaving a small space where you can see the recess in the titanium. I sent the knife back and Chris gave me a full refund. great customer service.

How hot and cold were you getting the thing? and (this might be a stupid question, I really don't know) are you sure it wasn't the metal getting bigger/smaller. I wouldn't think wood was so elastic

...especially since it's such high quality stabilized wood. I don't think it would be any reason for concern, or all that noticable...especially if it's to be a "user." It obviously was intended to be a "user," or it would have been sheltered from those extreme tempature changes.

How hot or cold did the knife get? Did you leave it on the dashboard of your car? Did you bury it in snow? Or were you just looking for a way to get your money back? I'm with Rick, I'm not changing my order plans. I'll probably carry mine and I''ll let you guys know how it works out.

I've also been wondering what type of temperature extemes were present. I feel that I use my wood inlay in a normal manner and I have not experienced any in shrinking or swelling. The temperature my knife has experienced range from rinsing in a cold mountain stream to washing in hot water. Since I'm usually either holding the handle in my hand or it is resting in my pocket, washing and rinsing are as hot and cold as it gets.

Sorry for the delay. The knife was carried around in my pocket at work, so maybe 90 degrees.
