Inlay rotation frequency?

Does anyone know how often CRK typically rotates their wood inlay offerings? I’ve become obsessed with them within the past 3-4 years or so. I see so many beautiful and varied wood inlays in old posts but the same Bog Oak, Box Elder Burl and Macassar offerings from CRK for what feels like forever.

I’m not real sure. I know I bought a Spalted Beech and Striped Platan last year. They were discontinued last year as well

Edit: stocks are actually running low on the sites I checked for discontinued inlays, other than spalted beech and thuya burl.

Sorry if I gave any false hope. A lot changed in the last few weeks it seems.

There still quite a plentiful supply of Bocote, Striped Platan, Thuya Burl, Spalted Beech and Gabon ebony out there if you know where to look. DM me if you don’t.

Thanks kidcongo. I probably should have mentioned that I’m a lefty. :D

At this point, I’m not really holding my breath on picking up a lefty with inlays I’ve lusted after (such as Bloodwood or Lignum Vitae).

Just wondering how long it may be before CRK rotates some fresh inlay options in.

Happy to see a fellow lefty chiming in here. I was able to pick up a Striped Platan myself before they faded away (didn’t seem like they were around very long).

Yea I’m not real sure long they were around. I have a thuya burl as well. They got discontinued as well. There’s a few dealers that still have some lefty’s around with wood. Not exactly sure if you’re looking for one in particular. From what I can tell Box Elder seems to have been around a while

It would be nice to see a schedule for planned wood inlay releases. I also don't see why they can't offer more than three types concurrently. It's just wood.

The three main offerings at the moment are the ones I like the least out of all the inlays they've ever used.

Came across a rare and completely perfect bocote inlay lefty for sale in wild. Mods delete if I’m breaking some rule here. Just trying to help our friend out.

Some woods seem to be offered for many years. Bocote, Cocobolo, Box Elder come to mind. Some like Spalted Beech, Stripes Platen only last a couple years.

CRK is very particular with their wood, so if they cannot find a quality reliable supply they will discontinue it. This is why mammoth was discontinued as well.

They also bring woods back as well at times. So just because it was discontinued years ago doesn’t mean you will not see it again.

They banned the harvest of most of the exotic hardwoods from central and South America a few years back.
