Inova question

The X1 is smaller and uses a single AA battery. I have one, and I really like it. It's unobtrusive in a BDU pocket, but throws as much light as I've needed so far. And it was cheap at TAD Gear. I'm really coveting an ARC 4+, though.

The X1 only has 1 LED while the X5 has 5. I believe the X1 is more of a beam projection while the X5 is a flood light to light up a larger area. I'm guessing that the number of LEDs is the reason for the price difference

The X1 throws a very tight beam with very little side spill. I've been using one at work and chose it because I needed a tight focused beam when working in electrical cabinets. It's better suited for up close illumination.

I have an Inova X1. I was originally looking at a CMG Infinity Task light. I am not too happy with the X1. The beam is too narrow, the thumb button does not work that well, and the aluminum case feels cheap. How well does the task light compare to the X1?

I have both the X5 and CMG Ultra Infinity. Both are great products. I carry the CMG Ultra Infinity as part of my EDC. I chose it over the Arc AAA because it is easy to turn off and on with one hand.

Has any one tried out the new Inova XO?

If you're looking for a small, single 123A 1W Luxeon light, I highly recommend the Longbow Micra. It's slightly bigger than an Arc LS, brighter than an LSH-P, as bright as an Arc4+ on Level 3, has 90 minute runtime, but has better build quality. In fact, the fit and finish is near Surefire quality. Plus, it costs a lot less than the Arc4+, and less than an LSH-S as well.

I have a couple of Inova's X5T and I use them as backup to my Surefire E2. They use the same batteries after the E2 has depeleted them. :)

The Inova X1 is a great little light. I can't imagine how anyone could think its case feels cheap. It's as sturdy as the X5T. It is also way brighter than the CMG Task Light. It's true the beam is very focused -- which is great for close up work. My daughter now has mine, like smegs said, for working inside equipment.

I recently got two NightCutter lights. One is a 5 green LED Sport Light and the other is the 3 red LED Chart Light. These are like the Inova X5T, but like the X1 in size, with a rotating bezel for on-off. Very nice, and a little cheaper than Inova.

I carry a CMG Reactor III in my tool pouch and the X1 in my pocket. They're both nice lights for the money. The CMG has a good bright white light with a decent throw and is not focused like the X1 (which I find remarkable). Both have survived 15 foot + drops onto concrete and suffered only scratches. My X1 has three layers of shrink tubing about an inch long as a bite guard when I need both hands free. Both take ordinary AA batteries which was a selling point for me cause I get free replacements from the job. More than satisfied with both.

May I ask what else you carry in your tool pouch? I suffer from insatiable curiosity about things like that. :)

Thanks for the list, but you'd better be careful. You're gonna throw your back out carrying all that.
