Am gonna get a new inova lite soon, just swapped for a T1 and like it a lot, have been thinking about the rechargeable T4, anyone have one/what ya think? also considering the T3 and the XO3, whats the main differnece between those 2, they look very similar?

thanks for any info,

I only have a T1 myself, so I might be wrong, but I belive the main difference between the X03 and the T3 is the beam. The X1, X0, and X03 have a very tight, uniform spot with little or no sidespill. Like a spotlight. The T series have a more standard flashlight-ish beam; bright center with diminishing sidespill. Not nearly the sidespill of a Surefire though.* If you look at the Throw/Lux numbers of the T3 and the XO3, you can see how the X's spots are far more focused.

Another difference is that the T series has a clicky tail cap (push in a bit for momentary, push all the way and it clicks on or off), while the X series requires twisting of the tail cap for always-on.

*An interesting note when comparing the Inova vs the Surefire: I have a Surefire L2 (older 65 lumen version) and an Inova T1 with 35 lumens. Even though the T1 has a much lower lumen rating, the bright spots of these two lights are almost identical--if anything, the T1 has a brighter spot! Of course, the difference is that the T1 has much, much less sidespill flood than the Surefire.

Planterz, I just looked at the reviews and it looks like the XO3 and T3 Have very similiar throw and total output, with the t3 actually a little bit more throw-y. In any case, runtime, size, and the beam should be about the same for both. The real difference is that, like Planterz said, the T3 has a clickie tailcap and checkering, while the XO3 has fluting and a twisty tailcap.

I have found in actual outdoor use that the XO3 does seem to have a bit of sidespill, though not as bright as a Surefire's certainly, it is still useful. You can't go wrong with either of these two.

T3 owner here - one of my ALL time favorite (non pocket) lights. This light ROCKS!! Incredibly bright, easy to use, LOVE the clicky (with safety twist-off) and the size is not outrageous. I bought it about 6 months ago and carry in my EDC bag and loved it so much that I ordered one for my friend who is a missionary in Africa. (sent it to him for Christmas.)

Cannot go wrong with either the X or T series - but I liked the clickie.

good luck-

I have a T-4. Love it . Picked it up from http://www.lapolicegear.com/index.html. I got it for about $75, but it seems the price has gone up. My only complaint, a small one, is that you get only one charging craddle and the lite locks into it so it would be nice to screw the craddle to the wall to be able to access the lite with one hand, but then its a bear to take the craddle with you in the car, and it does come with an adapter to fit the lighter.
