Inova X5 vs. Pelican M6 LED?

Flashlight newbie requests opinions! TIA.
These are really two different types of lights filling two different purposes. The Inova is more of a flood light so it works well for getting around but doesn't have much in the way of throw. It uses 5 regular LEDs and the whites are usually of a bluish tint. The PM6 LED uses a single, 1 watt luxeon star LED and in combination with the Pelican M6 reflector, it throws better than most LED lights out there, but it does retain enough sidespill to allow you to get around easily and the PM6 LEDs are very white. They are both machined out of aluminum, but the Inova is a smaller body and is waterproof unlike the PM6 which is a little bulkier and not rated for water (I think it may be "water resistant"). They both use a tailswitch (the old Inova X5 used a "twist head" for on/off), but the PM6 is a clickie while the Inova uses a twist on/off (tailswitch), with a pushbutton momentary. Both are good lights with the PM6 being slightly more expensive. What kind of stuff do you plan to use it for?

Not entirely sure what "caving" is, but if it's walking around in caves, I'd probably go for the PM6 LED becuase of the additional throw. One thing I forgot to mention about the Inova, though, is that it will run on batteries that will no longer work in a Surefire (haven't tried that with the PM6 yet).

i would get a streamlight twintask, my 2 123 batt model is brighter than my inova X5 in LED mode, and ya also have the option of the brighter bulb too, and they are about half the price of the inova, the twintask is a bargain imho, much better than the inova at half the price. in the brighter mode, they arent as bright as my surefire E2e, but is brighter than my SF E1e, just a good combo imho,

I would go for the Inova X5.

It has a very good battery burn time - 20 hrs, throws a very nice flood pattern, is very tough and waterproof to 120ft.

I like the Inova X5T. I've used it to get into my deer stand the past two seasons. It's all the light I needed. Great flood beam to light up a work area.
