Hi. Does anyone know firsthand if an Inova X5 will fit well in the pouch of a Strider sheath? I have a BT, so its a big sheath.

Thanks!

just went and tried it.
yup it fits, juuuust barely makes it, had to give it all the slack theyre was on the fastex buckle but itll definetaly fit

even if it didnt, id still say get the X5 its an awesome light, goes great next to the wallet in the back pocket.:)

I have yet to buy a led flashlight, still using Maglite AA. This one though, the Inova X5, looks very interesting. Does anyone know how bright its light is compared to a Maglite AA?

I'd also be interested in a SureFire, but they don't make any submersible ones, do they?

Thanks, Christiaan.

I think they are brighter then a AA MAG. The new ones should definately be brighter.

Surefire M series can go under water, but I wouldn't use them as a dive light.

hey, christiaan
before you replace your Mag AA with an X5 you might want to look at an Opalec Newbeam LED conversion for your Mag AA
its not quite as bright as the X5 but its about half as much since you already have a Mag AA (just gotta make sure its the new version) and you save tons on batteries since it only takes 2AAs and it lasts for 10 hours at full power.

heres the link:

Payback,

thanks for the tip, I might try that to indeed beef up my present AA, although I am still in the market for a submersible flashlight, one that has about the size of the AA. Still, looks like an interesting gadget.

Thanks,

Christiaan.

Keep in mind that that part is about $30. The Inovas are $34.90 here at my local store. You do the math and figure out which is worth your money. The Inova is a SWEET light...just got one. I wouldn't recommend the maglite upgrage; it's not proven, and still doesn't perform like the inova.
