hey guys my uncle just stoped by and gave me this flashlight like the one he used in aphganistan and it isnow the only flashlight i have in my bag though i carry multiples the light is about an inch long and a half inch wide it gives out a brilliant beam and has 3 differnet modes. high, medium, strob. the cool thing is that when you dont want to cycle through them all you wait 5 sec and the other wont work then they just start again. not to meantion they are pretty cheap.

I've had Inova X5's or a while. I started collecting them because they were similar in size to the 2 x CR123A Surefires, but when the batteries were too depleted to light up the Surefires, they continued to work in the X5 Inovas. Not as bright but very long-lasting, they make great household, car, backup lights. And they are indestructible.

Of course they've gone on to add to that original light. :)

I've got an older (2003?) CountyComm sterile X5T-HA that is still going strong. I can't find a 2xCR123 that is as bombproof and reliable as this light!

I take a "If it ain't broke........." mentality to a lot of gear, and it especially shows in lights. Twisty switch + momentary capability gives you both the reliability of a twisty with the ability to use the light as a momentary 'clicky'. Redundancy if one of the five 5mm LEDs decides to give up the ghost. Extra threading on the tailcap vs. standard production version. Potted electronics. Runs f o r e v e r on a set of batteries. Nice smooth, floody beam with just the right amount of output for night time walks and walking around a dark house.

Lots of high output LED choices on the market right now, but I'll stick with what works :)
