Anyone familiar with Stephen Osbourne from North River Forge? I was checking some of his Hawks out and found one I like. Just wanted to get some opinions.

Thanks,

Never heard of him, but that doesn't mean much. He uses good materials, both steel and wood, and does beautiful work from what I can tell. I'm interested now, as well. I was especially fond of his axes. Perhaps someone with knowledge of the subject will be along later.

I'm interested in the War Hawk with the cow hide and pins on the haft.:) Nice looking work from what I could tell as well.

I could find anything Good, Bad, or Ugly on him in that particular subforum, which leads me to believe he's a relatively new maker. I'd get in contact with him, and if he seems like a good guy, buy something.

That be my North River trade axe. And Browning Automatic Rifle. And Ratmandu!

I have one of his 'hawks (it's the#T-J20 Belt Hawk on his site) and think it's a real winner. If I recall correctly, the shipping to Iowa was fast and communication professional. I look at the site every so often and if I had the $, one of his bear claw tomahawks would be on it's way. Hope it helps.

I decided to go with the War Hawk with the leather wrap and the tack pins on the handle.
I can't wait to get my mitts on it.
