I own a left hand Spyderco PM2 (S30v), and want to get a right hand PM2 that has a steel I want (M390, 52100, M4, etc., haven't decided yet), swap the blades, and resell the righty in S30v at a discount. I realize this won't be super cost effective, I don't care, I like the design a lot and want a true lefty model with a steel I like, so willing to take some loss on the right model.

Any reason this might cause issues or not work? (I'm not a big Spyderco customizer, so I have no background with doing lots of customization beyond clips and etc.). Just want to know if it's a plausible plan before I buy the second knife.

If you have a PM2 with a compression lock setup for a lefty, then the lock geometry will not allow a blade swap with a right handed PM2

Exactly what gunfixrjoe wrote. The angle ground into the tang for the liner to engage is opposite on a lefty and righty knife.

Yikes, I thought maybe something like that was gonna turn out to be the case. Glad I asked before I purchased. Same old story for lefties: get a RH model and adapt. :-) I've had the RH PM2 before, it's not that big a deal. But I like my lefty model so much, it would be awesome to be able to get it in premium steel that I want.

Sometimes windshield, sometimes bug
