I believe both of these are close to the same size; has anyone handled both of these, or deliberated between purchasing either of the two? I just read the Chive thread, good info there.

Hi JK,

The Sculptura just started shipping about a week or two ago. It's not likely many have yet to see it.

Here it is for those who've yet to see it.

Here's more info about the knife.

Don't know much about the Kershaw Chive, but the SOG Sculptura looks like a must have, cute, little, and new :)

I got a Kershaw Chive a couple of days ago. It is equipped with Ken Onion Speed-Safe assisted opening, and this little knife opens extremely fast. It is rather small, but quite a cute knife at an affordable price.

I like both of these. The Chive has the Speed Save mechanism, whereas the Sculptura has the Arclock (I think that's the term).

Just got my sculptura today. I have both the chive and now the sculptura. Both are about the same size however the chive is a bit thinner. The blade is shinny and very sharp cuts through paper like butter. I can open it with one hand by pressing the lock back and flicking my wrist however it is a bit harder in the reverse direction.
Seems to be pretty well made for the money. Color is a bit darker than the picture i saw in this thread. Pocket clip doesn't seem to have much tension and rides better in my left pocket which is good since i am a southpaw. I played with it until my fingers got sore. Its a neat little knife !!!! :D

Hi Lefty,

Thanks for the kind comments about your Sculptura. After you've had it awhile, drop into the SOG Forum and update us on what you think.

Here's an updated link to correct my previous post. The image thumbnail link works, but the "more info about the knife" link not longer works (that's because of our new website).

Ron,
Now that I have had my sculptura a few days now i would like to make a few comments. One The axis Lock seems to be a bit sharp at the tip and leaves my fingers sore after playing with it a while. Maybe a smooth rounder tip would help. I have other knives such as the EDC 154CM and the paragee. Would it be possible to have the sculptura come with one of those blade finishes.

P.S. I prefer to carry the sculptura over the chive maybe i'm afraid that the authorities will consider the chive a switchblade. I know the new Ken Onion speed safe designs are not technically switchblades however the authorities may think different. Also I can open the sculptura with one hand almost as fast as the chive.

Keep those new designs comming !!!!
