Hey all, I'm not new to SNG's but this one is a different flavor than I'm used to -- wondering if anyone could help shed some light?
This SNG has a bead blasted finish and tigerstripes like usual, but the stripes themselves are reddish or red-tinged. Has anyone seen this production run before, or any idea how they came to be like this? There are no steel markings on the blade, just "Strider" and the FWP logo. The SNG is generation 6+, with the LBS, so I'm guessing it is a more recent run comparatively to other SNG types.
I am aware that some Strider heat treats have a red hue, like the ones that are BG42 and/or ATS-34 from back in the day. I used to own a few of those. But that was many many years ago, I am doubting that this blade is BG42.
No complaints or anything - the knife is just fine and functions. I just want to learn about it's history, if any!
Thanks!
