Inron my803 and other china made knock offs.

I would like to have a conversation about the china made high end look a likes and then the just obvious copies.
Things like the inron my803 sanremu (sorry if i miss spelled that) and some of the enlan knives i think are acceptable. Just for the fact that they arent trying to say that they are the real thing. They are just looking alot like the real thing. I mean it has happened in other companies and people accept it. Buck 110 the schrade lb7 and a 10$ winchester folding hunter from walmart are all almost the same in terms of design.

This being said i think that the CTS xm18 and all of the other Hinderer branded rip offs are just plain wrong. The counterfeit knives are in every aspect wrong and they are not acceptable regardless if if nutnfancy says that they are just as good. We all know that the 80$ rip off has no where near the quality of a real xm18.

I was just wondering if anyone thinks that the china made china branded knives are any more acceptable then the straight up rip offs.

I will give you the short answer. Yes, of course they are more accepted then the blatant rip offs.

This has nothing to do with my opinion, and you will see people bashing both of them, but there will always be more people hating the blatant thievery then similar look a likes.
 
I had to look up the cts xm18 you were talking about. The knife specs made me laugh:

Similar look alikes maybe not the most whats a good word.. Maybe they arent as standup as your own design but they arent ripping it off and trying to sell it for 300$ and say that its 100% as good as a real hinderer. I mean car companies do it all the time. Look at Hyundai half of their designs are taken from other companies.

on the other hand they are trying to make their rip off seem like its just as good as the real thing when it in no way is ever going to come even a fraction as close to what rick hinderer does on his stuff. Those are totally wrong in every way.
 
I dont see what your getting at here. I said the blatant rip offs will always be hated more. You even stated in your title about inron my803. There isn't much to talk about if you already think and know what everyone will say.:thumbup:

I thought this thread was about the other brands that don't make exact copies. If you wanna discuss the other stuff, there is a another thread going on right now. Have a look.

What i was getting at is people make this a big deal that the my803 and the 710 and other knives are totally wrong but the big name knife makers have done it and people dont have problems with it.

I wonder what rick hinderer would say if we gave him a inron. I wonder if he would be upset.

No problem, I am sure rick has already handled one. Since they inron cannot be passed off as a hinderer, I am sure he has other things to worry about. That is a whole other thread entirely though. And one that has been beaten to death I am sure. It still does not take away the fact that, through rick's hard work and countless modifications to the original design, someone just comes along and reverse engineers it in no time.

Have you seen the ganzo 710? You should look at that and see that down to down 100% of every little detail that is jacked from benchmade.
