Insanely stiff detent

My new Isham knife has a detent so stiff the blade is almost unopenable at times. In all other ways I love this knife, great action after the detent is broken. My question, will the two set screws on the frame lock as seen in this photo allow me to adjust the detent? If so, any suggestions? And if not, any suggestions? Need to fix this stiff detent.

The two screws you pictured are for the lock bar insert/overtravel stop, and are usually in a very precise, recessed fit.
It wouldn't hurt to try loosening the screws, opening the blade to engage the lock, and then snugging the screws back down.
If that doesn't help, you could try adjusting the lock bar tension. Just do your homework first. ;)
