That auction site has a HR with a spec ops sheath currently listed at ... are you ready ... $587!!!!! What's next???

It's a great knife.

It might not chop as well as an SFNO because it's lighter.

It might not baton as well because of the swedge.

It's still a great knife.

Meanwhile, an SFNO with an Okuden sheath went for $525. (closed auction)

There is a Steel Heart over there now with an interesting sheath. Is the seller a member here? I think people woud like to know more about his sheath design.

Its just goes to show what we all already know about the second hand market. The value of your item is what its worth to you while you keep it and what someone is willing to pay for it hen you go to sell it. In the second hand market timing is everything.

Agreed, that is a nice looking sheath - he should sell them :D

Sometimes two guys get in a p!$$ing contest on that site and bid up an item to some crazy price.

It's not about value to them, it's about winning.

HR's have always been strong though.

What kind of Steel Heart and sheath? I can't find it when I look there?

As far as that HR, all I can say is that must be one heckuva Spec Ops sheath!

This is walking the line on auction spotting in my book. Discussing closed auctions is one thing, but discussing an ongoing one could be construed as spotting. Keep the discussion on the speculative side and keep the prices and details out of it. At least you kept the link out of it.

Well, it is a nice Spec Op sheath:D ;) !
Still smells like a steamy pile of poo to me!

I knew my post was skirting the edge, but I was trying to focus on the homemade (?) sheath. Was hoping the seller might speak up here and tell us more about his design.

Understood, John. I did not think it would be an issue at all or else I would not have posted to begin with. More than anything, I was just trying to point out something I thought was ridiculous.

The bidder that retracted - 20 bids total history - 10 bid retractions total history... Sushi, anyone?

To answer the question asked, I made the kydex sheath with thumb adjustable tension on the ENDED auction built for the FBM. I cannot find anything for a Steel Heart, but that one for a Badger, with thumb adjustable tension, is also by me.

If you have any questions about the design, please let me know.

(I hope I didn't break any forum rules posting this)

That HR is "used" also. Geesh. Whatever. Now this nozzle head will get to pay the final value fee which will be just under $20 (plus the listing fees). All so he could NOT sell his knife. LOL!
