insearch of that big wave

i read this an thought i share it..living in Hawaii i dig my fare share of surfing,an always trying to catch a bigger an bigger wave,that perfect wave..but this local boy is just plain crazy:eek:that's a surfer from Hawaii ( Garret McNamara) in Portugal catching the worlds biggest wave,breaking his own 2011 record.

Saw this one today too. These monster waves are breaking too close to shore. Must be an epic ride!
 
it does look close to shore,could you imagine the power of the shore break,the sound,the force of the air after impacting the shore,must be amazing.

I grew up on da North Shore, up in Pupukea. Right above Waimea Bay. You could hear when da surf was up, an den you could FEEL when da surf was REALLY up!

Saw this yesterday. Made news everywhere. Pretty crazy, but I'd do it if I had the skill. 18' is about the biggest I've done, and that's all I could do. Maybe if I grew up in HI!
