Is it safe to IWB a waved or opening assisted knife?? Any chance that it'll "snag" on something I'd prefer stuck on? Or is this mode of carry better for tip down knives?
I started to do this with my delica because my jean pockets had become so frayed. I kind of like it this way. I tightened the pivot and I can't imagine a scenario where it would open up in my pants. Waving it open takes practice, but it works.
As for AO, I wouldn't do it. Especially if it has a flipper.
I make a holster for the Waved Delica and Endura called a Dpeed Dialer that waves the knife into the open/locked position for you as you draw the knife. It is Extremely fast, works well and still allows you to carry your Waved Spydercos even when the pants pockets don't support the knife.
You would load the Speed Dialer with your knife and it is carried the same way you would a fixed blade on a static line. It is also used in the neck carry position or on a Mercharness..
Here it is in the IWB position
and here in the Mercharness carry.
Any questions,, please feel free to drop me a note..
