Insingo and ZT 0777 Blade Similarities

Some time ago I became interested in CRK. When I began looking for Zaan online, I of course browsed through Knifeart and was introduced to their Insingo. I was immediately impressed by the blade shape and, if not for my deep longing for the Zaan, would have been persuaded toward the Insingo. I’m excited to hear CRK beginning to offer it in their regular line up:thumbup:.

Since the blade show, I’ve began to save my quarters again. Has anyone other than me noticed the similarities between the 2011 Blade show Overall Knife of The Year ZT and the Insingo? The ZT obviously has bells and whistles the Insingo doesn’t, but it appears the ZT got its blade styling from the Insingo. Notice the belly shape, the swedge and so on…

While I love me some ZT’s (don’t get me wrong, that is a sweet knife!:D) I think my next buy will be in Insingo. Am I wrong?

(I’m sort of a newbie, so hope I these pictures work)

I know this is basically a wharncliffe, and many other similar styles exist with other knives... these similar shapes caught my attention.

I don't know about ZT copying the Insingo but I have got to get me that 0777. That is a knife of beauty.

The 0777 is cool looking knife but it does have whole lot going on. Damascus, composite blade, carbon fiber,3D machined handles, ti sub frame lock, KVT pivot, and more.
I would need to have one in hand to really get a honest opinion. Compared to the insignio though the only thing thats alike is the blade shape.

Both knives look awesome in their own right!

Although the ZT's blade shape may seem similar, it's also very different.
The belly is much more pronounced on the ZT and the swedge takes up a little bit more than half of the upper blade. Not to mention the grind.
Not to mention the grind, composite material, and jimping all being different as well.

Overall they are both modified wharncliffe blades which automatically gives both blades similar nature.

At the end of the day...I want both. lol :D

IMO, no similarities whatsoever.

The Insingo is more of a modified sheepsfoot than wharncliffe. In fact, the Insingo reminds me of the blade shape found on a Santoku. . . .than sheepsfoot. :D
