I used to have a plain classic 21 and always felt that the blade was a bit too pointy. Im thinking of getting an Insingo as my next Sebenza.

Pros and cons?

Have both a lg and small Insingo. Love the blade shape. Have never owned a regular blade shape so can't really compare, but the Insingo is awesome!

I have both, I think the Insingo is a more useful blade for EDC and for food prep but I like the looks of a standard spear point profile better. What I don't like about the Insingo is some have a more sharpened swedge than others in my limited experience with the two I own. But one has a swedge that could cut through packing tape with a little force and I have another that would easily cut my finger while pulling it out of my pocket. I'll take a pic of both blades shapes together to give you a better feel of what you may be looking at...

I also find the Insingno's sweeping edge vs the steeper belly of the Spearpoint easier to sharpen and control when cuttng.

I have a large Insingo and a 25. In real world use, the insingo will be all you need for EDC and is a very good slicer. I will say however, that sometimes a good sharp point is useful. The insingo is fantastic at food prep. I would say the normal blade is just "Great" at food prep:) What I am saying is both will do most of the things you would use them for in an EDC perspective. So that is my solution for you. Get both:)

Nismo--here are a few more comparitive shots for you to enjoy. The small Insingo is my favorite EDC blade and probably my favorite knife overall.

Thanks everyone. I'll most likely go for the Large Insingo in the meantime while I wait until the 25s become more available and in different configurations.

I'm currently down to just a large 21 tanto and need some variety.

I've owned multiples of both, in a variety of handle configurations. I even EDC'ed both an Insingo and a standard 21 simultaneously for a few days to see which was "more useful for EDC". I used them both for every application I needed a knife for. Turns out, it's a wash. The differences in a variety of applications are so minute, I won't even bother listing which I liked (ever so slightly) better for each application. When it comes down to it, they are both equally useful for EDC, so get the blade that appeals to you more aesthetically. For me, that is the standard 21 drop point.

I had a new Insingo; sold it without ever using it. I'm sure it's a fine design, but I'm more of a traditionalist.

I've had Regulars, had 21's, have a 25, have Tanto's, have Umnumzaan's, and have both the large and small Insingo's, all are great but to me the Insingo blade makes for the best and most useful I've ever owned. I carry my Large Insingo more than any other knife followed closely by the 25, those two have all but put out to pasture my other knives.

That's just my worthless thoughts on the matter, I suggest that you get whichever one catches your eye more. I find the Insingo to be a great looking knife, much sexier than the standard 21 blade in my opinion.

If your budget allows I say get both and save yourself the concern ;P

There must be a reason, that the DP is the standard shape.
My guess is, that the point can be used for a myriad of purposes.

If cutting is the only purpose, then the Insingo might be the choice.
Makes you look like a more sophisticated user. The point ain't bad either.

PS: One lg Insingo is in my EDC rotation. :)
