Hey guys I know this has probably been discussed 1,000 times but I am going to be buying a large plain sebenza and am having trouble deciding which blade shape. I currently have a small micarta clip point. Just tell me which you prefer and why. Also if anyone has an insingo have you found that it can't do any certain tasks as well as a standard blade?
Thanks in advance!

The standard blade on the Sebenza is one of the sexiest blades ever conceived by man. The insingo is great, but I'd pick the standard all day long.

Insingo in small size, clip in large. That said, my Small Micarta 21 clip point is one of my favorite knives.

Go Insingo, only because you do the have one.

I have a small micarta Insingo, if I get another Sebenza it'll be a large micarta with the standard blade.

My favorite CRK blade is the Umnumzaan Tanto, particularly in the uber-rare polished finish:

I agree with the sentiment above: Insingo in small, drop point in large.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I much prefer the large Insingo.

You're not alone, I prefer the large Micarta Insingo as well. It's my favorite knife I own and I have the large clip point as well as many other knives. It's a great blade shape!

I'm going to be annoying, but this has begun to pick me for some reason. There is no "clip point" Sebenza. I personally define a clip point as having an upward sweep towards the tip, and I think that is generally accepted. Maybe I'm wrong in that definition, but contrary to some folks who don't own rulers, or have poor eyesight, there is absolutely no upsweep on the 21 blade at all......not even 1mm. Any upsweep is just illusion. CRK calls it a "drop point" blade as per their website, and with the prominent bend downwards just ahead of the jimping, it certainly is that.

I agree that both Insingo and Drop Point are good choices. I have both in both sizes and would say the standard blade looks better, but the Insingo is more functional for most EDC tasks, especially in the small size.

Just get one of each in both sizes. Then decide for yourself and sell the other there... we'll buy them.

Of course budget permitting!!

If you plan on doing a lot of cutting & sharpening, go with the Insingo.
On the other hand, if it is mostly carrying, with occasional cutting, and infrequent sharpening go with the drop point.

Definitely the Insingo for a Sm Sebenza and the drop point for the Lg. The Sm Drop Point is a little more difficult to open than the Sm Insingo. For my big fat thumb it made a big difference.

The aesthetics of the Lg 21 drop point really do it for me. I love how much blade sinks into the handle. If I could only have one knife it would definitely be the Lg 21 drop point.

Drop point + clip point = clop point? ;)

You are absolutely correct about this. I pointed out the same in my response above, and the OP took offense, so I edited my correction out.

Large Insingo keeps knocking drops out of my pocket.... I think for almost all tasks, the thinner blade of the Insingo works better for me

In the large I prefer the drop point blade personally. But...if you can swing it get both and test them out for yourself! You can easily then sell the one that is not for you:)

the 21 is a different shaped blade from the Regular Sebenza

1) Large Regular or P sebenza
2) Large Insingo
3) small Insingo

I know that probably does not help.lol!
