Inspired by AKC's Peanut Arrays, I played with my knives and created some arrangements of my own.

Looking back over these, I see that the lines and/or juxtapositions are just misarranged enough to send those with OCD over the edge. You've been warned.

Imagine how nice these would have been had I been either patient enough to wait for decent outdoor lighting or more creative with the background! Some might simply wish for better focus. Next time. :)

Pop quiz: what one blade out of all those knives didn't get its moment in the fluorescence?

Those little 25 Chunkas do pose a challenge; they're too short to blend in amongst other knives of their girth, too fat to fit in with the shorter knives. I love 'em.

Whatcha got?

The Spey blade on the Stockman.

Didn't think it would take long for a Stockman man to notice. ;)

I like your knife arrangement. I need to get more creative....

3 for 3 in that picture!

Does the Case on the right have a type name, or just a number? To me, that's a quintessential "jack knife," but I don't know how to describe it beyond that. I'm guessing Case doesn't make these any more? Beautiful.

I'm not Mateo, nor am I a Case expert, but it sure looks a lot like this Case 6231 1/2 (1940-1964) Elliott posted nearly two years ago in the jacks thread.

Sure does! These tend to catch my eye when they show up, especially in that old red bone. Wow.

Still, I'm interested in knowing if the knife is referred to officially or even colloquially as something other than a "6231 1/2"?

I don't think they're that bad. It's hard enough to take good pics of one knife at a time. When you add in a lot more reflective surfaces and different colors all at once it makes it that much harder.

Maybe the secret is to order 15 knives at the same time so they all match?:D

Nice collection BTW.

Hello guys, the knife you are discussing about is actually the little brother of what Doug said, the 6231 is in the middle picture at the bottom between the Barlow and the stockman.
This one is the 6235 1/2 made in 1972, I see it called swell end jack, regular jack and also teardrop jack. This particular one has unmatching scales, the pile side is deep red and you already side the phenomenal shield side.
I think this knife is my favorite and because of that, even if it's a nonsense, it see less pocket time for its irreplaceability(did I made up a word?).
Some more photos, it came in mint condition

Thanks. They looked more promising to me in-process than in the final result; it was in my heart to do so much more. Heh.

I look forward to trying again, with different themes and arrangements.

Ha! You might be on to something. :)

Thanks! If nothing else, I sure did enjoy handling the different knives together in succession. I like what I've chosen. A lot.

Thanks for the further information! You're also good to go with "irreplaceability," the word and its application to your knife.

Very cool ~P and all, love the arrangements of great knives.

Unfortunately, when my wife and I were taking all those photos last week we didn't arrange multiples of any except for these:

I'm honored, thank you P. I certainly didn't think that it was anything special, just trying to jazz the shots up a bit.

Here's a couple more. "Out of Chaos comes Order...."

The Pre-Peanut collection.... (ceptin' fore the poor 85 that was still in my pocket....)

I appreciate the accolades, but really, I'm not worthy....

There are so many outstanding photographers on this forum, it's one aspect I really enjoy.

Great collection for sure! That White Owl clip in snakewood jumped right out at me...sweet!
