For me, the 2016 Best Hunter vote came down to Doyle and Breda. Here's a knife after the style of their knives, that I finished up today. I credit John for the styling of the fluted and coined spacers. 1084 blade with stainless fluted fittings and coined brass spacers. For me, the keys to doing one of these are to make sure everything is flat, to use hidden guide pins to keep everything aligned, and to build it takedown style so you can take it apart and put it back together a few dozen times through the process. Mesquite Burl handle.

Beautiful knife with good, functional lines and nice details. The Doyle influence is apparent - a fine starting point.

Great idea to emulate the work from the best hunter thread. John's knife was fantastic, and I can definitely see the same styling in your knife.

I may have to copy your idea later this year.
