Samuel Bell was from Memphis and one of the best known American knife makers of the early 19th century. He was best known for his "long & pointy" type Bowies. This one isn't meant to be an exact reproduction of a Samuel Bell knife but definitely was inspired by him and shows a lot of his Bowie knife style. (I was wanting to make something that might have been carried on a Mississippi River gambling boat.)
I gave this one an experimental can mosaic pattern blade. The handle is interior mastodon with 416 furniture.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Gary
