....by some of the awesome WIP threads I decided to have a go at making a knife, several years ago I made several full tang knives with slab handle and no guards, this time tried something a little different.

11 inch D2 6.5mm thick (1/4") RC60 flat ground blade stainless guard and Black canvas Micarta and about 14 hours work.... it still needs a little more finishing to the blade.

Let me tell you.... I've learnt a couple of things and some greater respect for knife makers, one stainless steel is a pain to drill, file and fit to the blade and second stick tang handles are quite a lot harder to do than slab types.

Respect to all you full time makers out there..... I don't think I'll be giving up the day job!:D

That looks great! Man, what I want to know is where you and Lorien were when that camp knife design thread was running. This is a very good looking and a very functional design. You did really well.

I'm diggin it. That's a fantastic design- super bad ass:thumbup:
I generally prefer hidden tang knives and it looks like you did a killer job on your first attempt.
Knice Work!

Wow, I really like that knife. The overall look reminds me of Walter Brend. Very nicely done. Any plans on making more? I would love to get one.

Your kind of knife, for sure, Lorien... :)
Big and bad. Looks like it was made to really be used!

All the best,
