Install custom grips on Boker Twaiken

I just bought a Boker Damascus Twaiken and immediately found some custom titanium scales. I have never replaced grips and I'm wondering what problems I might run into, as this was a rather expensive knife and I would not want to end up ruining it. The pivot pin felt like it was glued - do I just mussel it ? Can I buy parts from Boker, if necessary ? Is there a certain order that things should be done ? Maybe I should just resell them (I'm feeling a little paranoid) ? Any and all help will be appreciated.

If the pivot is really tight i would use a soldering iron on the pivot screw for about ten to fifteen seconds in case there is loctite on it. You lower the risk of stripping anything. When i tear down i use a paper towel and i lay pieces on it mapped out so every screw goes back int the hole it came from. Not wpessential but im picky like that. The knife you are working on is ikbs equipped but i believe they started using a captive washer bearing instead of loose bearings on newer kwaikens. Its a pretty straight forward job. I would just remember not to force anything. If its not going together smoothly ask questions before proceeding. If you REALLY get in a jam send the thing to me and ill hook you up free of charge.

Once again, you really helped me out. I'm going to try as soon as they arrive and I'll certainly let you know. Thanks again.

After some tight-butt hesitation I finally put the custom grips on and they are perfect - everything fit just right, no extra screws and no problems, thanks to PURPLEDC's advise, especially regarding heating the pivot screw, as it was way tight. Thank you PURPLEDC - it's like getting a new knife.
