Okay, I have this really cool Killer Bee, unwrapped. I'd really like to put on some slim micarta slabs...anyone ever drill or grind a Busse. What problems might I have drilling through hardened INFI for the screw holes? I thought about using the existing slots. Also need a couple pieces of micarta...where can I buy some nice black paper micarta? and I'll need some handle screws, slots on both sides....
...maybe I'll just give up and para cord the damn thing.

I have a killeB and think it's a cool idea. I hae a black wrap wich is suposed to be more rare so I'm leaving it.
1. Do not drill the INFINI!!
2. find some micarta you like and some hex head screws that will fit between the slots. put your screws aginst the steel inside. I think this should prevent movement of the micarta. You could put more screws if you like.
3. I would not epoxy the micarta down. I have been collecting Grecos and rehandeling them, he uses no epoxy. Also you can change the handles if you wish in the future. Sounds like a hella fun project.
Have Fun

holy crap! now im lookin at a lot of stuff!
sk would be super with some slim micarta scales! g10, ...hmmm
i was actually thinkin about a handle for an unwrapped kb recently.

hey andre! what's up, amigo?

Now look what I've started!

This may be a nice winter project. So how difficult is it to work steel (INFI) that has been heat treated?
I have a feeling using the slots won't work for screw holes.

You might want to contact forum member T1mpani (Warren) He just had a Camp Tramp rehandled with green micarta. He can probably give you some ideas on where to find the Micarta and some helpful hints. If you do a search on the Swamp Rat forums you'll find some pics, it turned out really nice

:D:D

Thanks Eric, I've actually been in contact with Warren regarding other projects and he has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and contacts.
thatmguy's note on Kola knives has what I am looking for!
thanks all and I'll post a picture whenever I'm done . . . someday.

Steelswing just gave me the idea to use spacers in the slotted holes in the handles so I don't have to redrill anything. I think that was the only hurdle other than a possible handle reshape...thanks Bob! :D

Wow thanks for once I have something besides sheet coming out of my mind.
Keep us up to date I'm really intrested in trying something like this on my wifes SK pink handle w/UC blade and Dwaynes going to work me a pink sheath :D Wonder if I'll get it done before the divorce
Peace
Bob
