Installing Tek-lok

I installed the large Tek-lok to the stock sheath. With the supplied screws and posts I wasnt able to use the supplied spacers. Looking at pics of others with the same set up it looks like the spacer is used. Anyone else experience this? I mounted it in the vertical carry using the middle row attaching it where the rivets were removed from nylon strap. I mounted it with the post to the outside, screw head facing inboard, the fit seemed better but making it difficult to tighten if needed.

I did mine similar to yours except I went with ranger carry (screw is stuck so I can't go right handed scout). I wasn't able to use the spacers either... o.O

I used the spacers, no problem. Cut the strap off then drilled out the rivets. The Tek-Lok Large fit fine, with the spacers.

NIce and clean looking.
I mounted mine in the same manner as you but in a left hand draw scout carry. I honestly did not know at the time I mounted it what the spacers were for...lol..

i'm surprised more peoples don't use tekloks

They raise the handle of the knife up too high in my opinion, i would need a dangler or drop leg using a teklok

Looks like the spacers might not make a difference, some fit, some dont. I ground down the head of the rivets and saved the strap in case I wanted to try a drop leg if it feels like it rides to high just with the tek-lok.

Agree wholeheartedly here. Tekloks give a very high ride of the knife, at times the handle or pommel rubs against my ribs. Not too comfortable for large knives but smaller knives can probably get by.

You've gone whole-hog DxAxN! Looks great.

Yeah, B'dite, I'm with you. I have a teklok on my custom BK2 sheath, and all the knives/sheaths I make are drilled for the little ones. So quick, so effective.
