Installing thong hole on butt cap?

Hi folks,

How do you go about installing the extension (with the thong hole) at the
end of the pommel?

Does this thread on to the threaded portion of the tang?

Hope I'm making sense.

Well i suppose you could thread some rod and tap a hole in the buttcap or you could hard solder it on ..heck theres probably a hundred ways to do it..and i would find the wrong one ha ha.. just get after it and try it out!!good luck and let us know what you decide.

Sorry to bust the actual content of this thread, but seeing the words "thong" and "butt" in the header just made me snicker!

It depends on the construction of the butt cap,and how it is mounted.
One way is to have a threaded tang,and thread the pommel on,with the threaded tang going all the way through.Once the pommel is permanently installed,cut off the threaded section,leaving about 1/4" sticking out.Thread the lanyard ring onto this tang stub (use some lock-tight to keep it snug).
