About a week ago I started a thread and asked what I should add to my "Go-to" selection next. One very generous member here contacted me and said he wanted to send me something. I have done some giveaways, and have gifted knives to others so I accepted his offer and was excited to see what I had in store. I was floored when I received my package last week.

The box contained the following:

This awesome Northfield Whittler

and this sublime Wharncliffe Jack

and this smooth Lockback

and this beastly Trapper

I was speechless, and to some degree still am.
My benefactor said he liked what he saw in my collection, but thought I could use some color in it, and he was right. Some of you may recognize the whittler, and it is none worse for the wear.

I wasn't expecting a gift when I posted that thread, but I am not totally surprised either considering where we are right now :). I have gifted a few knives over the years, and now I know how the recipient feels. I am very thankful for this and can't wait for the chance to pay it forward.

Thanks to a very thoughtful gesture here is my new and improved GEC collection

Nice collection! Also, very generous of that member. It's always neat to hear of that & see it go to someone who will appreciate it. Very nice.

Wonderful knives all of them, and a very kind gesture from your GEC benefactor! Tortoiseshell is particularly handsome.

Congrats to you on your new collection. Those are some beauties..
The folks here never stop amazing me.

I know the shock you speak of, because I was sent a couple beautiful Schrade Waldens awhile back by a member.

Enjoy them.

Awesome gift and even more awesome to have such good people here, I'm glad we're all in such a cool place with great positive energy. I guess what goes around comes around.:)

I dont own any GEC at the time as I like knives that are easier to open, but I think that Yellow Slant Bolstered Whittler is one of the best looking knives I have ever laid eyes upon. Congrats on the gift from a very generous person.

WOW great story. I just recently added my first GEC to my collection and am I ever amazed at the W&T and how solid it feels. Thanks for the pics and have fun with the rotation process, its my hardest decision in the morning.

It is truly more blessed to give than to receive . . . and it ain't bad to receive!

Nice going on both ends of the deal.

Gestures like that are what make this place so special. And great photography, too.

thx - cpr

The generosity is more the norm around here. Great looking knives, I love that tortoise shell wharncliffe jack. Great lines. Congrats! Awesome job on the gifter, way to go!

Awesome

Here we say the power of the giving is stronger than the receiving

And amazing knives

Christmas in June! Colorful too!
