Sal (anyone?),

I just received a "used" Spyderco Sharpmaker 204 that I "traded-into" with a fellow
"Forumite". The problem is, he had no Instruction Manual/book/guide for it to send to me.

Is there anywhere that I can obtain an Instruction Manual/book/guide for my "new" Sharpmaker 204???

My address is:
Dann Fassnacht
708 North L Street Apt. 2
Aberdeen, WA 98520

Thanks.

Glockmann I just bought a new Sharpmaker when I get a chance I will photocopy the booklet for you and mail it out.

If y'all think it would like, I can hunt down mine and put up scans, that way if this situation ever arises again, we can just point them to my photopoint and it will be there instantly.

grantdouglas,

Thank-You for the offer, but I'll just
try and wade through it somehow.

Aside from the obvious, are there any
"tricks" to using my 204 Sharpmaker that
I should know about, that are covered in the "booklet"?

Sal,

Maybe you have an "extra" 204 Manual laying-around somewhere that I can obtain from you? (I'd gladly pay for one.

One insider trick you may want to know is to not let the point of your knife slip off the stones. That will dull your knifepoint. You may find more detailed info in earlier threads, or the archive.

One more thing I always tell my friends when they use it, is that in my opinion the sharpmaker is more of a maintenance tool. By that I mean that rebevelling is not something you will want to do with the sharpmaker. It does not contain the proper coarse stones for that job. In all, a great tool for resharpening.

bteel,

Thanks for the offer, buddy, but I don't want to take YOUR only copy of the 204 Instruction Manual.

Hi Dann. What you need is a 204 video. I believe SFO sells them for a few dollars.

Sal,

I have the video. Joyce sent me one for my Sharpmaker 203 a few months ago. I guess its' the same one. What I am looking for is the Instruction manual/book/guide (the printed one). Maybe the Sharpmaker only comes with the video, and not a "paper" manual?

UPDATE: Well, I just finished watching the Sharpmaker Video again, and it looks like there IS an Instruction Booklet that comes with the Sharpmaker 204...(I'd SURE like to have one...
