I don't have a frame lock Emerson, but the only thing I do is put a spacer (duct tape/paper..) so that when I remove the blade, the lock doesn't snap to the opposite side.
Other than that, it is a screw and 2 washers. It can difficult to remove the pivot assembly (non-screw side) as the tolerances are so so tight...which is a really good thing.
To move that non-screw side, I use a good chop stick or a small wooden dowel, so I don't damage anything. The chop stick doesn't touch the threads.
I don't remove that pivot assembly all the way, just most of the way, so that the washer, blade, then other washer can come out.
