I want to try disassembling my CQC12 for cleaning and just for experience. Is there a site with pictures and instructions? I can take down and clean a sebenza but I'm not sure if the difficulty is higher on Emersons.

I don't have a frame lock Emerson, but the only thing I do is put a spacer (duct tape/paper..) so that when I remove the blade, the lock doesn't snap to the opposite side.

Other than that, it is a screw and 2 washers. It can difficult to remove the pivot assembly (non-screw side) as the tolerances are so so tight...which is a really good thing.

To move that non-screw side, I use a good chop stick or a small wooden dowel, so I don't damage anything. The chop stick doesn't touch the threads.

I don't remove that pivot assembly all the way, just most of the way, so that the washer, blade, then other washer can come out.

Have fun : )

Operation successful. Came with a lot of black ugly lube from the factory. Cleaned it all out and put in a couple dabs of CRK flourinated grease. Now it's smooth as a baby's ass.
