Just a preview of this two I'll have finished for next Friday, as they need to go to Slovenia via NYC!

San mai damascus with a 5160 core.

Mini Santoku: 4 1/2" blade, 9" overall length.
Chef's Knife: 8" blade, 12" overall length.

Thanks for looking!

awesome as always Ariel! Did you mill the whole thing from that thickness or did you forge weld on the tang?

I didn't use a mill, I started with a package of steel layers as I always do and press forged the ingot to desired shape and thickness (both handle and blade) Then did the final blade forging to shape with a hammer/anvil and then I ground the bevels and drilled the handle :)

Of course, I still need to grind the handles to the proper rounder and thinner shape and finish up the blades.

Here they are finished.

I don't really like how the santoku turned out, so I'm gonna make another one for my customer.

Those are really sweet looking blades. If you don't think your customer would like them, I could test them out for you:D
