Here's a few pics of an integral hunter in progress. Caleb will make a better image shortly.

Don's W2.

Drawn out some and starting to forge the blade.

Forming the tang...I usually cut off too much and you can see as I get closer to
forming the guard the tang is growing. Sorry, I don't have a finished forging pic.

Roughed in.

Very, very cool Tad! I love how the hamon goes all the way through the guard.

I was going to mention that too. Interesting how the hamon follows the line so well even with that drastic change of mass in the guard.

extraordinary knife!!!!!!love the integral guard, and how the temper line continued thru!!!!!!very very well done congrats!!!

Nice work, Tad! Really like how this one turned out.

That W2 is awesome stuff. Love the stag.

You make great knives Tad. This one is no exception. I always enjoy the aggressive forward angle your blades have. They always look lean and mean.

I think, however, that I do see a small gap in your guard fit where the ricasso meets the face of the guard. ;) :)

Seriously though, the integral guards are a great idea and you do them so well. I also like how the hamon runs through the guard.

Nice work.

Tad, you definitely need to work on your guard to blade fit up...;) Great looking knife! Look forward to seeing Caleb's photo.

Tad

Beautiful job all around - I love integrals, and ones with stag are few and far between.....but "way cool" :D

Thanks for the WIP pics as well !
