This is a integral knife I finished recently It is Forged W2, started as 2 inch round the handle is braided rawhide, I made the hide and cut the strings from a calf and a cow I lost this spring. The handle is calf and the sheath is cow lined with buckskin it is studded with solid nickel spots and nickel silver conchos I made, the nut is 1018 mild steel and no clay was used.
8.5 inch blade 13 inches overall
Thanks for looking

Wow! K A, that is some VERY impressive work. The knife handle and sheath, of course draw the most praise from me because I understand what went on in the preparation of the materials and then the design and finally the fabrication.
I have a similarly made piece that I prize highly from a Brazilian friend and yours is the first I've seen of this quality originating the the good old USA. Thanks so much for showing your work.

Paul

WOW - that handle treatment is incredible!!!
Nice work on the hardening line.
While I'm not a fan of the design, I can certainly appreciate the work.
Well done - hope to see more pictures in the future.

The Rawhide handle is very impresive

There is a whole lotta work in this piece and it looks great

I really like the whole package, most particularly because it all seems really unique, but familiar, at the same time, and also because your execution of it is damn good:thumbup:

Thanks fellas for all the comments.

Paul, as you probably now it take longer most of the time to get the hide ready and cut the strings than it does to braid it.
