Integrity

I had originally intended to post this under Tang Failures. After reading Very Disappointed I felt that a new thread was in order.

When I contacted Uncle Bill about the tang failure of my BAS he was extremely upset. I have never heard Uncle Bill swear before! Perhaps he curses regularly in person but I don't think that this is so. He immediately offered to replace the blade with anything that I wanted. Theoretically I could get a fully engraved shop 1 20" AK for the price of a shop 2 BAS. Now in the strictest sense this is not "good buisness" on Uncle Bill's part. It does, however, speak volumes for his integrity. This offer was made with no questions asked, no conditions attatched and with no prompting from me. These are not the actions of a man with low integrity! In the "traditional" sense, this is very bad business. But this is how Uncle Bill operates. This is one of the reasons why we buy our blades from him and why we "hang out" here.

I will not be taking him up on this offer as I do not feel it would be right. I do not take advantage of strangers and I certainly do not take advantage of friends! I will probably replace it with one of the new Salyans or an 18" WW2. I will purchase another BAS somewhere down the road. Right now I want something bigger. I have insisted on paying the price difference.

I know that the quality of HI khurkris will only get better from now on. (if that is possible) Anyone who doubts Uncle Bill's honor and integrity may feel free to contact me for a discussion.

Bill actually does curse. So did George Patton,Curt Le May and my Grandfather on my mother`s side.I do not.A matter of choice. The issue is an insult.45`s at 20 paces. As a CINC I am upset with springrcop`s post as well.I think that it was hasty and ill advised.

As I said, I ad intended on posting this anyway. Springrcops post disturbed me however and I decided to make this a separate thread. I hope that he recognizes the error of his ways and does what is necessary to remedy it.

All that is necessesary is a different attitude. There are a lot of people who care less about their life than their honor. This is true of gangbangers ,if springrcop has them on his beat.I just hate to see a cop destroyed by his own ignorance and arrogance. You just do not say things like that without expecting a lethal attack.Don`t be fooling with what you do not understand.Sure, the cops have a bigger gang. That is not going to help your stupid butt stuck out in the wind.I`d like to see springrcop make his 20.I was a rookie too.

Thanks for the vote of confidence and kind words. Spring is new to Himalayan Imports and does not have the benefit of the experience that most have in dealing with one another. I can understand his disappointment so let's not judge him too harshly. If you go back and take a look at his thread it is clear that Yangdu and I made a mistake and the fault is ours. Thankfully, we will be able to correct the mistake in a very short time.

Uncle Bill

As I have said elsewhere, ghost, "to err is human, to forgive divine." Don't be too harsh.

Uncle Bill

I am asking spring to forgive a mistake we made. How can I not try to understand his feelings? He reacted to a mistake.

Uncle Bill

That does not address his reaction which was entirely inappropriate, and without basis or foundation.

Good judgement comes from experience, and most of that comes from bad judgement.

I try, though sometimes not very hard, to remind myself of the above when I am in the process of learning a great deal that I had ( I thought ) little forwarning I was about to be blessed with.

Well Mr. Six the more i read from u the more i doubt if u are as u claim to be. And obviously do not read well! If u are or ever were and officer of the law i doubt your quality! But u do sound like one who rides a desk!!

Hi forumites;

Here are few nice phrases quoted from "A Passion For Success" by Kazuo Inamori.

1. We can never be completely free from anguish and worry. But even in your worst moment, try not to lose your cheerfulness and hope for tomorrow.

2. Heaven will not ignore sincere effort and true determination.

3. Business relationship can be heaven or hell, depending on whether we view them as win-lose situation, zero-sum games, or win-win opportunities of compounding synergy.

4. A great love involves bringing happiness to a great number of people.

English is my 3rd language - so I check the meaning of integrity in Webster's - it is written as "the quality or state of being of sound moral principle; uprightness, honesty, and sincerity".

I think it is very important ! It is important to build self integrity - it is also important to maintain self integrity - and furthermore it is very important not to crush anybody's integrity.

We are ordinary human beings - if we err then we make an apology - if others err then we forgive them. After all - integrity is something that can be recognised after being tested - am I correct ?

Thanks, all.

Remember, everything here is a reaction to a mistake that I made so ultimately I am responsible. Therefore, don't get in squabbles with one another. The original problem has been corrected so let's carry on as usual. This forum is not a place for fighting but for the exchange of information, ideas, and for helping one another.

Let's all chill out. It is and honor and pleasure to know and deal with Uncle Bill.
Southern Indiana is hot this time of the year Uncle Bill but you are welcome at my home any time you can make it.

Most respectfully submitted to all.

Spring, the way it has shaken down,it was I who was hasty and ill advised. You will find that these posts are not read or written as though were legal briefs or police reports. Some information is exchanged and some fun had.No one is going to send an RPG down your phone line.

Since this thread is about integrity. Jaeger seems to be at the top of the list as well.
