Been thinking about this awhile. Figured the most interested people would be in here. In the intital stages of planning a get together that is less "hanging out" and more "Lets test ourselves". Been asking a lot of questions, and finally got the perfect spot from Dave Canterbury himself. The locale is Daniel Boone National Forest. The reason is lots of wild area, and pretty much "anything goes" rules.
The idea is an extended weekend hike in somewhere with whatever we can carry. Put the bushcraft skills to the test. The only support is what we bring and each other. Looking for at least 5 people on this outing, but as big as the interest level allows.
Pick a destination via satellite or topo map and get there. Build base camps, Supplement the food we carry with what we can catch or collect. And all in completely unfamiliar territory.
Figure Mid-July timeframe.
Any takers?
