I have read some of the threads looking for an "in between" BK knife, so, I was giving it some thought today and wanted to see what the Beckerheads thought.
Blade: 4", fixed
Thickness: 1/8" or 3/16" (suggestions welcomed, PLEASE!)
Steel: 1095 of course
Blade Shape: ???
Here's where I get into it, I personally think the BK2 IS th perfect knife (IMO), so I lean towards the drop point, BK2 design. Thin out the width by 3/8" inch, standard Becker GEN2 handle, call it the Little Camp
or
Go with the Flat grind, drop point (Necker) add a 1/4" to the width, reduced Becker GEN2 handle, call it Bushpanion.
Sidenote: I have come to lump the term Bushcraft in with Extreme and Tactical as words I don't use anymore, unless I am poking fun at something, like Extreme Tactical Bushcraft- creating a new civilization without anyone knowing, while walking on hot coals, with just a knife and a firesteel. In my circle, it is now known as simply ETB. I mean no disrespect to anyone as "bushcraft" is a fun, viable hobby, practiced by some very skillful people. I just hate buzz words, and IMO the term bushcraft has become just that. So....
The names may suck, but I think the design is viable. I am sure someone of DawsonBob's caliber could render some concept art for us to drool over, I think this and the BK folder are going to be awesome tools for the world to have. Thanks to all. Moose
