Interested in the baconmaker

I really like the look of the Baconmaker and it is up my alley as far as fixed-blades go. I have a couple concerns though and perhaps they can be addressed here by more kabar knowledgeable posters. Firstly, I wanted to know if there was any other sheath on kabar's line up that might be able to fit the baconmaker.Perhaps the sheath on the 1271? I'm not too crazy about the standard BM sheath, I am sure it is excellent for certain people and applications but not for me. Secondly, I'm not overly fond of the brown scales. I have heard the Zombie line of knives have black scales that are identical to the scales on the baconmaker. Can anyone confirm this? If so how can I go about picking up a pair?

I can confirm that the ZK line of knives scales are exactly the same, just in black. I can't however tell you if the BM will fit in any other kabar made sheaths.

If you're looking to get a different sheath for it though, it is probably the same amount of money (or close to it) to buy a custom one from one of the makers here on BF as it is to buy a premade stock sheath for a different knife.

It will fit in the BKT BK7/5 sheath. And the ZK black handles will fit.

Both can be purchased by contacting Kabar.
