Found an "interesting" modded 303 on the auction site for those who would really like a bail on their stockman.

:)

He/she/it welded the bail on?!? Gosh! I bet that don't get in the way ... cept when you need to use the bail end blade ...

Kind of makes you wonder what was in their brownies to come up with a "solution" like that, don't it?

The bolster doesn't look discolored. I wonder if the "weld" is something like J.B. Weld?

Looks like JB, or a 2-part epoxy to me. I would expect the scale to be a puddle even if tig welded like that. Solder maybe?
LOL none the less...

It looks like solder to me. Plus the bail cannot flip out of the way when the blades are deployed on that end.? DM

C'mon David, you know you'd like to get this one. Lol.

It has to be solder or something as you guys say cause I agree if you tried to weld it, and I don't know how, I'd think it'd melt down the bolster pretty quickly.

See some amazing stuff on the auction sometimes.

Reminds me of my first dentist, sis went before me, could hear her hollering, waiting room had replica of gun/ball that was used on Lincoln prominently on wall, lucky to still have teeth...

You want a bail. You shall have a bale. This one, a doozy, with a ways to go to reach perfection, Lucite scales, has been visited by a mangler, oh my:

Yes, crude. But on this 2nd one he got the format right. That's the manner you mount a bail. Push the pin out, insert a longer pin. Create bail with small hole in each end, insert onto pin and flatten heads. Leaving enough room for swivel. DM
