Interesting article in the L.A. Times

Amazing article, but very sad as well...I think part of the reason why he doesn't get as much business is people no longer hold value in maintaining their knives. You wouldn't believe how many people will say when I look at the kitchen knives in their house (I do this everywhere) "Oh, those are just rubbish. They're nothing special" when they actually have a block full of quite decent knives that have simply never been sharpened since they received them at their wedding reception! :eek: I usually try my best to touch them up, and always leave them better than when I started, but the edges are usually so far gone that I'd NEED that great big wheel to get them back how the should be.
