light duty cordage, hand drills for friction fire, female flower heads for (flash) tinder (you have to be quick) and if you start a female flower head smouldering, it will serve as both a slow match (to effectively carry a fire from one place to another, without having to go through making another fire by friction methods) and as an insect smudge. ( a 6-inch flower head will smoulder for about 2 hours in still air.)
