I won't post the link here, unless one of the mods tells me it's ok. However, if you type "Sebenza" into the eBay search tool, you will find the following advertisement:

Up for auction is a small classic sebenza. For you CRK followers, collectors, and sebenzanistas, I’ve got something different for you. First of all, the handle is in near mint condition. Can’t say mint because it’s just been refinished, that being said, nothing else wrong, and does look mint. Two blades come with this auction and both are fitted for this handle and all work, material, and laber was done originally by CRK employees. Both have been cleaned up and will come sharp. One is S30V, tumbled finish, and in excellent shape and condition, rarely used, near mint with slight wear on the anodized thumb lug. What makes this S30V blade unique is that it comes from the first batch of S30V from Crucible. Not the large batch of blades or steel, but from a very small mill run that was for testing of material only, a small sheet of 6” by 8” (memory going bad but it was small). The Vanadium content was 2%, instead of the 4% currently in S30V. CRK only had enough material for 2-3 blades and Crucible changed the make up a little bit later to 3% then again to 4%. More info may be available from CRK or Crucible although many of the folks responsible at Crucible are no longer there. Holds a great edge and will do you well if you decide to use it. The other blade is S90V. Yes, I did say S90V. To my knowledge, only two S90V blades were put into a Sebenza for comparison cutting on cardboard with BG-42 and S30V blades. The other S90V blade is probably in a CRK drawer or it has been round filed, I do not know where it went. This S90V blade has some light surface scratches that can be removed if refinished by CRK, (if they are willing), and is in great shape with slight wear on thumb lug. And, no, don’t ask. Thumb lug will need to be removed in order for proper refinishing with a new one inserted afterward. This S90V blade has been finished with a longitudinal satin finish. Neither one of the blades come with a guarantee/date of birth card or CRK box. If you would like more info, feel free to ask and I’ll do my best or try CRK.

Anybody have more info?

Starfish,
This is ligit. I personally know this individual. We both used to work for CRK. He has since moved on to bigger and better things, but was an integral part of the CRK team at the time that R&D on Crucible Steels was taking place. He left the employ of CRK shortly there after and never looked back. There is no warranty card because none was ever issued since these blades were R&D pieces. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a piece of CRK history.

Thanks for the information. That's very interesting; I only wish I had the dough right now! :(

I saw this knife at the BAKCA show a few years back, it was Scott's carry piece at the time. A real piece of history indeed!

You hit the nail on the head. I didn't want to drop any names here. There is still some bad blood there.
