Interesting: Emerson knife Google search gave me this...

there was another literary character that carried a cqc7, though the series and author's name escape me.

Not sure if you were being facetious or not, but if you weren't, the series is Rogue Warrior, and the author is Dick Marcinko.;)

Finally found the CQC7 ref. but nothing about left handed!
In general, a hack job of book with little merit.
Certainly an unexpected result for the Google however.

Richard Marcinko! There's a name I haven't heard in a while. 100 percent all-American badass. "Demo Dick", very first commander of Seal Team Six and creator of Red Cell. Too bad the beaurocrats screwed him over. Ah, our lovely government...

nope, i actually couldn't remember.

:foot:

10-4. I wasn't sure if you had heard about a supposed 'falling out' that he and Emerson allegedly had.;) I know "Demo Dick" now tends to hang out with the Strider guys:barf: at big knife shows.

Agreed! Dick Marcinko is indeed a badass! I had the pleasure of meeting him and getting him to sign a Benchmade 975 (Benchmade/Emerson CQC-7), years ago (mid-90's), at a venue he appeared at when I was doing security work. He's just as brash and cocky as he is rumored to be as well.

Emersons are also pretty prominent in quite a few of David Morrell's recent books (he's the original author of 'First Blood', which is well worth the read, and fairly different than the movie;))

Yep! And the CQC-7 even made the cover of his 2004 book The Protector.
