went there just to see if they had any minicomms. they didn't :(

had a conversation with the counter guy while i was holding a commander BTS:
sales drone: "guess what the handles made of?"
me: "G-10."
him: "Nope. Kevlar."
me: "You sure? Not G-10?"
him: "nope. a lot of people say that, though."
what i was thinking: "its not a minicommander. its too big for me, not buying anyway."
what i said: "oh." wasn't in the mood for an argument. :)

on the other hand, they had a nice 6 there, damascus blade, pearl handles, Ti Bolsters... beatiful.

Did you ask him that if you put in on a necklace it would second as a bullet proof vest?

Paragon in NYC?
The only thing that exceeds the ignorance there and the arrogance are the incredible price markups.
But I'm sure some of the folks behind the counter are OK. I just never met one.
On the other hand, they must have to deal with an incredible number of aggravating browsers in the average week. I hope I wasn't one. :)

heheh. last time i was there, the guy who helped me knew a little, and admitted he didn't know stuff that he didn't know about. i ended up picking up a spydercard for a gift that day.

today i was specifically looking for a minicommander, and was going to pick it up if they had. they didn't, but i used the time to look at some other stuff.

also, was able to handle a sebenza. they had a large-small Classic collection there, for $875 i think. definately liked them- the lock was amazingly strong. i feel even stronger about the framelock commander :). sebenza is classy, a gentlemans knife in the way that even a full dress CQC6 doesn't achieve. (as beautiful as a 6 is, i find that a tanto/tanto-style tip just doesn't have a smooth elegance to it as opposed to a clip or drop point, or even a spearpoint. it looks too functional- which offers its own beauty, but of a different kind.)

got to see an axis lock- interesting way it works. not a fan after using it, but its pretty innovative.

Im surprised, paragon used to have some fairly helpful people. They have a high turnover rate though. Prices are high, but you have alot to look at/handle, and see what you like or dislike.---Kevin

Every time I pass by Paragon I go in just to see if that dressed-up 6 has sold.:)
