Interesting find on my Kershaw Piston

So, I broke into my Piston to re-grease the speedsafe pocket.. normal routine. It had developed the rattle.
when i took the top scale off, i had discovered this:

As you can see, there was a bit of a mishap with the milling. The countersunk area for the pivot screw interfered with the speedsafe pocket.
I havent noticed any problems with functionality, or deployment of the blade in any way... im just wondering.

Do any of you that own Pistons have this same thing? or was mine just a funky oversight.

I don't have a Piston but that doesn't look right imo. It looks like the g-10 has a hole all the way thru to other side, maybe it was time for a tooling change?
 
I just looked at mine, couldn't find that kind of milling mishap. I'd like to say I haven't noticed any holes in the three Pistons I've handled, but then again, I didn't really look for it...
 
Not sure about either of my Pistons but it occurs to me that the Echelon I had apart had this similar look to it.
