Interesting folder suggestions?

I'm looking for something off the wall, that may or may not be another "ordinary" knife. I've got about 125-150 to throw down on one, and have been considering a P'kal. Any suggestions?

Boker Minos. $249 from Blade HQ and they have a video on it. Sorry, it is higher than you want to spend, but check out the photo - Anso design. Some have had fit issues, so make sure the person you speak to picks you a good one. I'd buy one but am broke right now.

That looks really nice, but 6.5 oz is really heavy for a knife that size.

Kershaw ET. It's discontinued but I wish I would have picked one up a few years ago.

CRKT Eros. Nice little shank (3" blade) with IKBS bearings, titanium handled frame lock. Goes for $125. Good knife, neat toy.

I'll second the CRKTs with IKBS, they're as smooth as glass, and among the best flippers you'll find.

Some eccentric designs for your consideration:
Fox-Anso flipper
Fox-Nero Nighthawk ( The titanium/N690co composite bladed version is pretty neat)
Kershaw- ET (Discontinued, you should still be able to find it on the secondary market for a reasonable price)
Kershaw-Speedbump/Specbump
Kershaw-Offset (Discontinued)
Spyderco- Poliwog (Discontinued)
Spyderco- Matriarch
Spyderco- Shabaria (Discontinued)
Etc......

I don't want to actively discourage you away from the P'kal, but I hope you realize that its unique blade and handle lend it to an almost purely defensive role.

Whatever you do end up getting I hope that you enjoy it. :)

I do, and have trained to use a knife RGEI, I just don't know if I want such a one trick pony

Kershaw ET is hands down the most bizarre knife I've had that still manages to be quite useful. Another that falls into that category is the CRKT Nirk Tighe.

How about a nice custom BM Griptilian. I picked one up recently at my local gunshop and I love it. I will be building a custom Grip, only because I like having a tanto point, and the 551 is a drop point. They are very light and run anywhere from $90 (in stores and internet) and about $150 for the custom Grip from the Benchmade site.

how about a folding scalple for 50 bucks? check out the Havalon Piranta Torch or maybe the Warren thomas Beretta avenger 2. Here is a vid on the WT/Berretta this one is out of production but you can still find them if you look and it is in your price range.like a few other guys suggested the Kershaw ET is a awesome knive.

How about the Spyderco Techno or Boker Albatross? Both are a little strange looking but very functional. I absolutely love my Techno.

I think the Alias 1 is an excellent folder, perhaps more suited to office use than heavy-duty stuff. The Techno, OTOH, is one heavy-duty fella. I've owned several of them and it's a good knife, although a pretty short blade.
