One of my first pleasures relating to BladeForums when originally lurking here for a few months before finally creating my account, was looking for and reading these threads that you guys would make, relating to the reactions of co-workers, family, friends, to your knives. I remember some of these had the tone of "WELL, I WAVED OUT MY ESPADA XL TO CUT THE LOOSE THREAD AND SHE JUMPED BACK LIKE SHE WAS SCARED, GUESS YA CAN'T HELP SHEEPLE!" and others were very reasonable folks who had ladies asking them why it was even allowed for a SAK to be at a workplace, or whatever, and all tones in between. I love these kinds of stories, so, I want to hear from you all, anything notable at all, positive and negative experiences. Did you do something silly back before you knew proper etiquette, did a co-worker have a wigged-out reaction, or an unexpected cool reaction? Tell them all!

I was at granddaughter's birthday party. Dad's ex just moved out and took every pot, pan, dish, glass, cooking utensil and knife with her when she left. There was a lot of gratitude for the large inkosi insingo that day. Worked up watermelon, sausage, corn on the cob and potatoes. First comment was from Aunt Erin who's only comment was "I knew you'd have one". Other kind words followed as the day went on.

Oh man, you saved the party and the day! This is kind of the reaction that I've been getting; people grateful cause they didn't have one handy. It definitely feels nice!

Reading all the threads on here of people reacting to knives in seemingly irrational, negative ways, I was a little scared that would happen to me, but I've found it to be quite the opposite, myself.

I was a coach for a school sponsored group. Not a sports related team but more intelligence related. The kids were in around 5th grade. We would meet at the school several days a week and I would give them time to get a snack before we started. One of them couldn't get their package open and without a thought I pulled out my CRKT Cryo and opened it. All of them but my child and her friend just stared in disbelief. That's when I realized I probably shouldn't have done that at school. Whoops
