Recently got a copy of:
Heat Treatment, Selection and Application of Tool Steels
by Bill Bryson
published by Handser Gardner Publications http://www.hansergardner.com
The book contains very clear, complete, basic information on heat treating without getting too scientific. It also gives exact directions for A2, D2, O1 and a number of other steels often used in knifemaking. I learned quite a bit from the book and would rec. it to anyone wanting to expand their knowledge in the area of heat treating tool steels. Cost was a bit over $30.
